For students

Sixty questions, and then some work that actually exists near you.

Before you start

Sixty questions, in six parts of ten. Most people finish inside a class period. There is no timer and no score.

Your answers never leave this device. Your answers are never sent to us. The only thing that ever leaves this page is the name of a job and your state, and only if you press the button asking to see openings near you. We never receive your answers, your name, or anything that says the request came from you rather than from anybody else.

Nothing you type here is written to this computer either. Not to a file, not to browser storage. Your answers are held in the page while you use it. Moving around the site and coming back keeps them, because it is the same page, but reloading or closing the tab ends them and there is nothing to recover. That is deliberate: anything durable enough to survive a refresh is also copied into a duplicated tab, and on a shared school computer we would rather lose your work than hand it to the next person who sits down.

The questions are the O*NET Interest Profiler, published by the U.S. Department of Labor. It is a real instrument with a published manual, not a personality quiz we invented.
